Insurance is offered through Cornerstone Capital only by appropriately licensed insurance producers. A producer must hold a license in the state where you live for the line of insurance being discussed, and must be appointed by an insurance carrier before placing that carrier's product.
Licensing and appointment status varies by state, by producer and by carrier, and it changes over time. Nothing on this Site is an offer of insurance in a state where the producer is not licensed, or of a product the producer is not appointed to offer.
A license means a state has authorized a person to sell, solicit or negotiate certain lines of insurance in that state, and that the person met the state's requirements to get and keep it. A lookup will usually show the license status, the lines of authority and the dates.
A license is not a rating, an endorsement or a measure of experience. It does not tell you which carriers a producer can offer or whether a product is right for you. Our article on how to verify an insurance agent's license walks through each step.
You do not have to take anyone's word for it, including ours. These are official lookups:
Search in the state where you live. Check that the license is active and that its lines of authority include life insurance.
Ask the producer you are speaking with for their National Producer Number and the license number for your state. You are entitled to both. You can also use the contact page to ask us, and tell us the state where you live.
This page does not list individual credentials. Each producer provides their own.
If a lookup shows no license, an inactive license, or a different name, stop and ask before sharing personal information or applying. Your state insurance department takes questions and complaints from consumers directly.
