Coverage through work
Work coverage is a real benefit. This is the quick version: the four details that decide whether it is your whole plan or one useful layer.
The short answer
It usually ends when the job does. Sometimes you can keep part of it.

Cornerstone Capital is an independent life insurance brokerage, not an employer, plan administrator or insurer. Approval is never guaranteed.

The short answer
Coverage through an employer typically ends when you leave the job. Some plans let you continue it through portability, or convert it to an individual permanent policy without new medical underwriting, within a short window and usually at a higher cost.
Work life insurance can be a useful layer. The question is whether it is your entire plan.
If you changed jobs on Friday, what does your group certificate say happens on Monday?
Most people know they have coverage at work. Fewer know these four things about it.
Does your work coverage match what your family would need, or what your employer chose?
An employer picks an amount for everyone. Your family's need depends on your income, mortgage, children and savings. Sometimes the two match. Often they do not.
